Growth & Scale / The next chapter

Grow the capacity. Keep the responsibility close.

KMG is building a deeper practice, not a distant one. The aim is to take on more demanding work while keeping senior judgment, technical discipline, and client access inside every project.

Starting point / 2026

Small enough to stay close. Large enough to carry serious work.

KMG's growth plan begins with a boundary: the firm should not become so layered that clients lose contact with the people making the principal decisions.

Scale is useful only when it gives a project more depth: more technical checking, more continuity, and more people able to solve a problem without weakening accountability.

Four rules for growth

The firm can become more capable without becoming less personal.

01

Leadership stays inside the work.

Growth should increase the firm's capacity without moving decisions behind layers of management. Senior review remains part of ordinary project work, not a ceremonial checkpoint.

02

Architecture and structure grow together.

KMG will not build one discipline faster than the other. The value of the practice depends on both teams being able to test the same problem early and carry it through documentation and construction.

03

Systems earn their place on difficult days.

Templates, model standards, drawing reviews, and field reporting are being strengthened so the quality of the work does not depend on one person remembering every step.

04

Geography follows relationships.

New territory is approached through repeat clients, trusted collaborators, and local knowledge. A pin on a map is not treated as an office before the practice can support it properly.

Geography / two points, one practice

Dallas remains the headquarters. Pennsylvania extends the reach.

01 / Headquarters

Dallas

The operational center of KMG remains in Dallas. Project leadership, administration, and the firm's primary technical resources continue to be anchored here.

02 / Northeastern presence

Pennsylvania

Pennsylvania is now Kristofer's primary residence and KMG's base for developing work in the Northeast. It extends the practice; it does not replace Dallas as headquarters.

No headquarters move is planned. A future office will be named only when people, work, and local responsibility exist there in practice, not just in marketing.

What changes

More depth where projects need it.

  • A broader technical bench across both disciplines
  • Stronger quality-control and documentation systems
  • Greater capacity for complex, longer-running commissions
  • Measured regional reach through trusted relationships

What does not

The people responsible remain visible.

  • Dallas remains the operational headquarters
  • Architecture and structure begin at the same table
  • Senior staff stay involved beyond the proposal
  • Growth is paced by the work, not by appearances

A practical horizon

Growth measured in capability, continuity, and trust.

01 / Now

Make the existing practice stronger.

The immediate work is internal: clearer project roles, dependable review gates, better shared details, and enough depth that knowledge can move between people without becoming anonymous.

02 / Next

Add capacity around proven relationships.

Hiring and regional growth should follow work the practice understands and clients who value an integrated team. KMG is not pursuing headcount as a substitute for a clear workload.

03 / Long view

Build a practice that can outlast one owner.

The test of scale is continuity: younger leaders must be able to inherit judgment, client trust, and technical standards, not merely a portfolio and a company name.

The history behind the plan

Growth makes more sense when you know what the practice has already carried forward.
